HPV是大部分宫颈癌发病的原因。宫颈刮片检查时，医生首先收集位于宫颈的细胞并在显微镜下观察，以发现是否存在宫颈癌相关的异常表现。而在HPV筛查中，医生可直接检测是否存在HPV感染。
